Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) presents distinct challenges at the intersection of clinical care and legal systems. In the context of personal injury, disability assessments, insurance disputes, and litigation, FND is frequently misunderstood, mischaracterized, or mishandled. This has direct consequences for patients, clinicians, and courts alike.
This Medical Legal SIG will serve as a structured international forum to guide best practices in the medicolegal assessment of FND—bringing together various members of the FNDS to improve standards, align language, and promote consistency in how FND is evaluated and discussed in legal settings.
