Mark Hallett Award Session
Join FNDS in-person or virtually for the inaugural Mark Hallett Award Session to be held during the FNDS Biennial International Conference on June 14, 2026, in Baltimore, Maryland.
As many of us in the community know, Dr. Mark Hallett was not only the founder of the FND Society but also a mentor, colleague, and friend to so many of us. His passing this past November has left a profound absence, both professionally and personally. Yet it has been moving to witness how strongly his legacy endures—in the people he guided, the collaborators he energized, and the patients whose lives he helped change. Mark had a rare ability to combine deep scientific rigor with extraordinary generosity of spirit, and those qualities continue to shape our field today.
Dr. Hallett’s contributions to neuroscience were remarkable in their breadth and depth. The award session is designed not only to honor his legacy but also to carry it forward: inspiring rigorous inquiry, elevating emerging leaders, and strengthening collaboration across the fields of movement disorders, neurophysiology, and functional neurological disorders.
The Mark Hallett Award Session, which will close the first day of the conference, will feature presentations by two of Mark’s esteemed colleagues and dear friends: Dr. Joseph Jankovic and Dr. Anthony Lang. Both have been foundational figures in movement disorders and were deeply connected to Mark’s scientific journey, making them especially fitting recipients of this inaugural recognition.
Register today to join the FND Society for this historic session.
